Our Process

What Happens When Devices Arrive

As soon as your devices arrive at Galide's R2v3 certified facility, our technicians immediately begin the secure data destruction process using the relevant NIST 800-88 compliant protocol.

Our goal is to maximize the value you recover by giving devices a new life in the circular economy. When that's not possible, NIST Destroy protocols are applied in accordance with SERI R2v3 ethical recycling guidelines.

  • Immediate processing upon device arrival
  • NIST 800-88 compliant wipe protocols
  • Certificate of data destruction issued
  • Full audit trail for compliance reporting
  • R2v3 certified facility — ethical recycling guaranteed

Three Levels of Data Destruction

We apply the appropriate NIST 800-88 protocol based on your device type, data sensitivity, and compliance requirements.

Level 1

NIST Clear

Applies read/write commands to overwrite data in all accessible storage locations with nonsensical data. Used for ATA hard drives and SSDs in standard use cases.

Best for: Standard enterprise devices, general office equipment

Level 2

NIST Purge

A physical or logical technique that renders target data recovery infeasible using state-of-the-art laboratory overwrite, block erase, and cryptographic erase methods.

Best for: Healthcare, financial, and regulated industry devices

Level 3

NIST Destroy

Physical destruction of storage media when data wiping is not possible or sufficient. Applied in accordance with SERI R2v3 ethical recycling guidelines.

Best for: Damaged drives, top-secret data, government & military

Certifications & Standards

Compliant with the Highest Industry Standards

Our data destruction services meet and exceed the most rigorous industry standards. Every destruction event is documented and auditable.

NIST 800-88

Guidelines for Media Sanitization — the gold standard for data destruction.

SERI R2v3

Certified facility — responsible recycling and ethical e-waste standards.

NAID AAA

Certified data destruction by the National Association for Information Destruction.

DoD 5220.22-M

Department of Defense standard for secure data wiping.

ADISA

Asset Disposal & Information Security Alliance certified processes.

HIPAA / GDPR

Compliant destruction for healthcare and EU data regulation requirements.

Why It Matters

The Risk of Improper Data Destruction

Data breaches from improperly disposed devices cost businesses millions. Don't take the risk.

Average Data Breach Cost

$4.45 million average cost of a data breach in 2023 — often from improperly disposed hardware.

Deleted ≠ Destroyed

Simply deleting files or formatting a drive does NOT prevent data recovery — professional tools can retrieve it.

Regulatory Fines

HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulations carry heavy fines for organizations that fail to properly destroy data.
